Speaker of the Evening

Peter V very cleverly "thanked the speaker".

The bulletin’s got me all confused
Said that I should ‘Thank the Speaker’
Now you know at an AGM
There’s lots that could fill that beaker

Well, Daniel is our last year’s man
And next year’s Pres. is Les
So I guess that Donna said the most
As our new outgoing Pres.

So many ‘Thank Yous’ Donna
For all you have done
You’ve run our meetings skillfully
And kicked some up the bum

You’ve worked away behind the scenes
Done lots we’re not aware
And helped the Speaker seekers find
Presenters who were not there

You’ve fronted the Directors
And kept that lot in line
Then given time to the Trustees
To pay out cheques on time

And when you have a barbecue
Where we all bring a dish
You lean upon your hubby
To come up with the fish

So thanking of our speaker
Was really not too hard
But it would have been much better
Delivered by The Bard
