Rotary Club of Balclutha

5 July 2018

Presidents Changeover

Members and guests arrived to the dining room brightly decorated in blue and gold.

Daniel gave a speech highlighting the club's many projects throughout the previous year and handed over to Donna who had a parcel each for us with the new club directory.
Donna reminds us to please go through the directory to check the committees we have been allocated to and the calendar of club events for the coming year.

Donna showed the video of Barry Rassin's Rotary Theme Address where the new Rotary International President encourages us to "Be The Inspiration" for the Rotary motto "Service Above Self". We need to make Rotary stronger and Barry explains how to inspire with "love, enthusiasm, audacity and proof by leading by example". The full speech can be viewed on Rotary.org.
2018-19 Theme Address - Barry Rassin RI President-elect
Donna awarded badges and thanked Christine Eyles for continuing with the role of Secretary, Barry as Treasurer, David and Andrew as Directors, and Les as President-Elect. Congratulations also to Christine on receiving the Bill Jones trophy for assisting the President the most for the second year in a row.
Barry and Christine E won the presidents' prizes for best dressed and Alison Ward on behalf of Balclutha Inner Wheel congratulated Donna and Daniel.

We were then joined by Diane, Stacey and Sue from Balclutha Marching who instructed us to be ready with your eyes down looking as they hosted games of housie for the club. For anyone that wants more of the game, Diane announced they will be starting housie nights at the T&C in August. Thanks Donna for putting on such a fun night, we look forward to our year ahead with you as President!
