The Rotary Club of
Balclutha

31 May 2020

Welcome back everyone - our regular club meetings will restart on Thursday 4 June at T & C.

T&C new regulations regarding  Covid-19, we must enter through the main door into the Matau room, (not through the Bar).
Our plated meals will be brought to us at the table. Drinks will be bought from the Matau Room bar, not the main bar.
Directors have accepted an increase in meal prices as requested by the T&C.  We will now pay $20 per person.

Nominations are open for District Governor 2022/2023.  See Tania if interested.

As discussed at our last Club Assembly meeting, Book Sale postponed.  Directors have decided that as town Hall free last week in September,  we would hold it then. Hall pencilled in.

Changeover to be July 9th.

Food Bank
Tony has a box at his work for any Foodbank donations.

Lockdown Poem - thank you to Peter V for getting creative during Lock down and writing this poem.

Don't gather 'round people wherever you roam

Or COVID will get you if you're not at home,

Rotary won't matter if you're under a stone,

So think of the lives you'll be saving

If you don't go to meetings or the Rhododen Dell

For the times they are a'changing.

As we drop from Stage 4 and we enter Stage 3,

It won't make any difference to a Rotary meeting,

If there's no-one to talk to and no-one to see

Just think of the lives you'll be saving;

So take off your shoes, oh, and lock up your car

For the times they are a'changing.

Think of the mileage that Tania will save

Not going to meetings from Bluff to the Cave

Phil won't have to listen to speeches she gave

And things aren't so bad in Balclutha.

Take note of the words of Jacinda Ardern

For the times they are a'changing.

As the years pass us by, as they surely must

We'll look back on this year, the lockdown and fuss,

But we won't miss the death toll, we're glad it missed us

And the people that live in Balclutha.

But no matter whether we stand still or not

The times they will keep changing!!
